Cashubian mentality and way of their life are specific, especially during association with common people. For ages the cashubian territory was a colony exploited by rich gentry, who was inflowing from whole territory of Rzeczpospolita. Lately, Prussian officials and masters replaced the gentry. The wanted to dictate their own way of life and their culture. Distrust of polish people to the strangers made up a characteristic beauty of history. Cashubias are used to be conscientious, exact and take care of public order , what is a heritage of past. Unfortunately, it is disappearing.
 Cashuby, similar to Wielkopolska and Śląsk, are favoring, against the background of the country, visible thrifty, self-goverment, and religious opinions, mainly because of very long association with better developed German. For instance on Cashuby there are over thirty titles of local press, what is a sensation in our country.

There are many religious Cashubian customs, which have been kept till present. For instance Cashubian 'Dyngus'. It take place in second day of Easter. It doesn't base on pouring girls water, but biting freshly cut twigs of juniper. On St. John's night on Sobótka's hills in the barrels, situated on high pole, there is lighting fire.
